Ellis Jones Solicitors are looking for a self-motivated IT Trainer to join our IT Team based at our Bournemouth office, training 200 staff across 8 sites in getting the most out of the software they use on a day-to-day basis. Our solicitors are leaders in their area but are always looking for ways to improve their service to clients. With an ever advancing would of IT you will be there to train staff on IT in general and on specialised applications, adjoining that training with their current processes.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing IT training to all staff on all software used by the firm.
  • Working with the IT Manager to creating well-structured courses for staff appropriate to the skills needed.
  • Maintaining appropriate record of training provided and resource allocation highlighting areas of training needed by staff.
  • Maintaining appropriate record of all training materials on the intranet and keeping this up to date.
  • Carry out training needs analysis.
  • Develop an appropriate mix of formal and informal training resources.
  • Design course materials and other documents such as handouts, manuals and exercises to support training.
  • Prepare the learning environment and resources, including setting up IT equipment where appropriate.
  • Deliver training in formal (e.g. a classroom), informal (e.g. floor-walking) or online (e.g. via intranet or remote desktop sessions) environments.
  • Support and coach learners using leaning technologies to deliver skills.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes and learning outcomes and report to the IT manager.
  • Liaise with partners (e.g. external course providers, employers, examining bodies) to fulfil the skills needs of an organisation.
  • Keep IT skills and knowledge up to date.
  • Working alongside the development team to assist in deploying new features and training staff to get the most out of them. Maintaining letter templates, ensuring any updates are amended and the correct versions are stored in the appropriate places.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required

  • Up-to-date knowledge of common IT applications and systems.
  • Microsoft Application Qualifications (a benefit).
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Organisation and planning skills.
  • Training delivery and presentation skills.
  • Patience and confidence.
  • A willingness to learn.
  • Microsoft Qualifications (a benefit).
