The role We are seeking a knowledgeable IT Service Site Manager to be based primarily at Bacon’s College within United Learning’s South-East London Cluster. Prior experience in a school environment is desirable, and a demonstrable customer-focused approach is essential. As the ‘face of IT’, you will build strong relationships with users of all abilities and levels of seniority. You will lead the local IT team, currently comprising an IT Technician and an Apprentice. As part of the UK’s largest multi-academy trust, you will be supported by a wider network of like-minded IT professionals. We believe in sharing our expertise to deliver the best possible service. Resilience, excellent communication, and strong collaboration skills are essential for this role. You will manage a varied and dynamic workload, balancing the integrity of IT systems with the needs of users. Professionalism in manner, conduct, and appearance is key. A proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude and strong interpersonal skills will enable you to succeed, supporting teachers in delivering the best outcomes for our pupils. This role also requires a high level of literacy, as all written communication must adhere to Standard English. Your primary place of work and responsibility will be Bacon’s College. However, you will also be required to visit other cluster schools—Conisborough College, The John Roan School, and Sedgehill Academy. On occasion, you may also be asked to support other United Learning schools within a reasonable travelling distance.
United Learning United Learning schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance. As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, perks, benefits, health care, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have up to eight INSET days per year and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It’s an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’. Bacon’s College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all who work at the school to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
