Senior Marketing Manager – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Reporting to the Communications Director – Marketing, the Senior Marketing Manager (Maternity Cover) role sits within the Pan communications team, working closely with other teams across the business.

Your role:
The Senior Marketing Manager (Maternity Cover) will devise and plan creative consumer marketing campaigns for frontlist and backlist titles across all media platforms. The role also includes running and developing social media accounts, advising more junior team members and leading on tone of voice, cover approaches and brand style.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Planning and executing creative, innovative communications campaigns that deliver clear, audience-focused positioning to drive commercial results for a range of books, including brand authors

  • Working closely with authors and their management and external PR agencies, ensuring a collaborative approach to promotion

  • Project-managing the pitch process, including compiling material from the Editorial and UK and International Sales teams, briefing designers and managing the design process

  • Attending in-person pitches when required

  • Briefing media, creative agencies and freelancers and assessing the responses

  • Assisting in the development and training of more junior colleagues

  • Working closely with colleagues across the business to develop truly collaborative campaigns.


Essential experience, abilities and knowledge you’ll need to succeed:

  • Demonstrable experience of planning, developing and executing marketing campaigns

  • Social media account-management experience

  • Experience in engaging and partnering with influencers

  • Design skills in Canva, Photoshop and/or InDesign

  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong ability to manage time and prioritize, working on multiple projects

  • A passion for commercial fiction and non-fiction and an understanding of the UK book market

  • Understanding of the application and principles of AI in marketing and communications.

Salary starting from: £44,000

This is a full time, 12 month fixed term role, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
