The Role:
As a Development Finance Officer, you can make your own powerful contribution to the way in which we’re developing great residential options for our local community.
Joining the Regeneration and Development team, you’ll support a wide range of exciting projects in which your financial modelling and specialist commercial guidance will ensure their successful delivery. Developing dashboard templates which the team will rely on, you’ll gather market intelligence that will help us secure funding and investment support, and benchmark schemes and opportunities that are in the pipeline. This will mean working with a wide variety of colleagues including those from housing, property, development, finance and legal – so there will be plenty of variety in your day-to-day activities!
Monitoring business plans and acting as a bridge between the finance and development teams, you will help your colleagues with any governance needs, and you will ensure various scheme programmes are in-line with their intended targets in order to ensure the delivery of investment returns. This will include making recommendations on where cost efficiencies could be achieved, and sharing financial insight and analysis so that development colleagues can go even further in their work.
And while established projects will be a key part of your work, you will also have a great deal of involvement in potential development and regeneration opportunities. Helping sales and development colleagues understand the commercial and financial thresholds of potential avenues, your valuable insight will help them build business cases and appraise the opportunities that are worth pursuing.
This is a wonderful opportunity to help us make a significant social impact for the individuals who live here, plus those who are working in or visiting the area, so we will rely on your astute corporate forecasts to help us plan for the future. Collectively, our team are passionate about driving a culture of continuous improvement, so if you think there are ways in which we could improve how we’re doing things, then we’d love to hear your ideas.
Please refer to the Job Description for more information.
About You:
This is an exciting opportunity to delve into the world of real estate and residential development with the most prestigious Council in the UK. We want you to grow and excel in your career with us, so we’ll provide you with plenty of great opportunities to learn from our multidisciplinary team. To be equal to this challenge, you will therefore be a team-player who is excited about the chance to contribute to ambitious property developments.
With a background in the sector, it would be helpful if you have a professional qualification in Finance or Development, but your experience of contributing to development appraisals is more important. With exceptional strategic planning, financial modelling, budgeting, monitoring and project management skills, you’ll be adept at adapting your insight into accurate reports, recommendations and dashboards.
Comfortable working with senior-level colleagues and stakeholders, your analytical capabilities and financial acumen will be complemented by great communication and influencing skills. It goes without saying that you’ll be highly numerate, and you’ll enjoy translating complex scheme and financial data for a variety of audiences.
From a practical perspective, you will have well-developed skills in Microsoft Office and financial control software (such as SAP, YARDI or PAMWIN).
