Core Banking Platform

finova's Core Banking Platform includes the UK market-leading cloud-based originations software and integrated in-life servicing software. About the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a critical role that involves managing AP operations, optimizing processes and maintaining vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise in AP systems, and experience in a fast-paced financial environment.

The position is initially advertised on a 6-month basis to cover for a leaver in the team. The team are in the process of implementing Netsuite which may change some of the responsibilities of the role in the longer term. There is opportunity to extend the role beyond the 6-month period and we would discuss this with the successful candidate.

About You:

In terms of your experience, your attitude is everything, but we'd particularly love to see your:

  • 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, preferably in a private equity backed or high growth software company.
  • Strong proficiency in finance systems – ideally in Microsoft Dynamics BC (existing finance system) and Netsuite (new system being implemented in 2025).
  • Good understanding of IFRS and financial controls.
  • Ability to analyse AP data and implement process improvements.
  • High level of accuracy and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and vendor negotiations.
  • This is a hybrid role based at our London office (on site 2-3 days per week)

What will you be doing?

  • Manage AP Processes: Oversee end-to-end accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, processing staff expenses, and preparing payment runs, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring timely payments and resolving any disputes efficiently.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, automation, and scalability of the AP function.
  • Month-End & Year-End Close: Work closely with the accounting team to support financial close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • System Management: Utilize and enhance AP automation tools, ERP systems, and financial reporting software.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with procurement, finance, and other departments to drive operational excellence and cost management.
