Your role
The Director of Organic Performance will lead the SEO, Content, and Digital PR teams at a strategic and innovation focused level, driving agencywide initiatives to elevate organic performance capabilities. This position is responsible for shaping scalable strategies and fostering collaboration across departments, ensuring the agency delivers best-in-class solutions for clients. Internally ensuring a viable and profitable approach to services focusing on how to build both size of revenue and hit the overall P&L target. The role includes resourcing across Digital PR, Content & Technical SEO functions by working closely with departmental leaders across each function to ensure consistency and shared governance whilst assessing impact to P&L.
Role and responsibility
- The role involves leading a talented team of professionals and consultants from mixed specialisms to achieve the following for the agency:
- Defining and executing the agency’s overarching organic performance vision, ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends.
- Developing scalable frameworks and processes to support consistent and impactful delivery of organic performance initiatives across the client portfolio.
- Assessing client needs a seniority required across relationships and suitability of tooling based on cost.
- Driving collaboration between SEO, Content, and Digital PR teams to ensure cohesive and innovative service.
- Establishing and maintaining agency standards for keyword research, competitor analysis, and market insights.
- Leading the productisation and dissemination of SEO recommendations, technical guidelines, and content strategies from both a sales and implementation perspective.
- Monitoring industry trends and algorithm updates, ensuring the agency’s strategies remain cutting-edge and effective whilst communicating this across the industry.
- Championing the use of data and AI for insights to improve strategies and guide decision-making across the agency and the client portfolio.
- Aligning and innovating with our tech team on SEO tech and tooling.
- Developing training programs and knowledge sharing initiatives to upskill team members and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
- Creating business cases for internal growth initiatives, new service offerings, and opportunities to expand organic performance capabilities.
- Fostering growth within other pillars of the business, focusing on cross benefit for commerce clients.
Qualification and skills requirements
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in an agency or client-side environment, with a proven ability to lead high-performing teams and implement innovative strategies. You will have developed both the strategic and operational skills required to take ownership of the agency’s organic performance initiatives and drive measurable results.
Our ideal candidate will understand everything relating to organic performance and a desire and ability to learn and innovate. We’re looking for people with logical and analytical minds who can show some initiative and take pride in their work.
Essential skills and experience
- Extensive understanding of search engines and advanced technical and content-led SEO strategies and techniques.
- Proven experience with scalable frameworks and processes for organic performance delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster collaboration across departments.
- Advanced Excel skills and excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong project and resource management expertise, with a track record of delivering results for a diverse client portfolio.
- Exceptional analytical mindset, capable of translating data into actionable strategies.
- Experienced in pitching and speaking to c-suite individuals.
- Must have the right to work and live in the UK.
Desirable skills
- Experience with international and multilingual SEO strategies.
- Second language proficiency.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS systems.
- Salesforce or similar CRM platform experience.
- Background in presenting to senior stakeholders and managing relationships at the executive level.
