London, Greater London, United Kingdom (On-Site) Our Opportunity Our Systems Engineering function are currently looking for an Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM) on our flagship Connect portfolio. As an EDM you will be responsible for providing engineering delivery leadership, direction, decision authority and support to the project. You will ensure the engineering team meet all project requirements by taking a bigger picture view of the whole project and owning the interdependency between various interfaces. This is a hybrid role working a minimum of two days per week from our site in Waterloo, London. Key Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Lead and oversee the engineering project(s) from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, on budget, and in accordance with the defined tools, practices and processes as set out in the GTS Management System and project specific Engineering Management Plans
- Define project objectives, requirements, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and resource allocation
- Create culture around safety, collaboration and efficiency
- Build and manage high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability
- Mentor and guide team members
- Work with the Engineering Functional Teams to ensure that the programme’s Engineering team are competent, developed to their full potential, mobilised and released in a timely and planned manner
- Ensuring resource demand is proactively managed and communicated to the Engineering Function in a timely manner
- Act as the primary point of contact between engineering teams and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues
- Work closely with and report into the Head of Engineering Delivery for the Connect Portfolio
- Collaborate with product/project managers and business leaders to prioritise project deliverables based on business goals and customer needs
- Be visible and influential with the customer, building trust, credibility and collaboration
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success
- Ensure that engineering projects meet high-quality standards and adhere to best practices in software and hardware development
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes and testing methodologies
- Ensure that any Corrective Actions and Observations related to the engineering delivery and solutions are closed in a timely and complete manner
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering teams, promoting efficiency and innovation
- Systems and technical experience covering all aspects of the project and product lifecycle, with particular focus on technical interfaces and integration
- Ability to deliver a strategy for the multi-disciplinary Engineering team
- A proven record of on-budget, on-time delivery, whilst maximising margin and delighting the customer
- A proven record of managing effective teams, tackling under performance, recognising success and developing talent
- Experience and knowledge of whole systems engineering lifecycles for large complex systems
- Technical/project experience in critical control systems engineering and/or safety critical systems.
- Experience of working through significant transformation programmes
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, motivation and inter-personal skills
- Ability to build and sustain strong working relationships at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, mentor and coach a diverse team
- Demonstrable experience in achieving buy-in from strong technical stakeholders
