Job Purpose:

This role will provide day to day management of ICT, and related systems, and support the planning and delivery of key ICT projects that help drive the Charity’s strategic and operational plans.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide vision and leadership in all aspects of IT delivery and IT strategy to the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Lead IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems.
  • Plan and execute IT changes effectively, taking into consideration the requirements of relevant departments across the charity. Provide training if necessary.
  • Manage ICT and systems contracts, ensuring they meet service level agreements and support management in raising any concerns or with renewals.
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.
  • Ensure relevant policies and procedures are being applied and reporting any significant risks.
  • Manage Annual IT Budgets ensuring budgets are adhered to ensuring cost effectiveness.
  • Take responsibility for daily IT requirements across the company and ensure all ICT users have the equipment that meets the needs of their role.
  • Creation of executive reports and adhoc reports as required.
  • Manage ICT apprentice who will be responsible for IT support throughout the charity.
  • Direct, coach and support ICT apprentice in daily tasks or escalated troubleshooting.

Person Specification & Key Competencies

  • Ability to rapidly learn new systems and acquire knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a highly varied and unpredictable workload.
  • A creative and flexible approach to work.

Qualifications/Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar IT Manager role.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.
  • Experience leading and managing IT projects and rolling out new IT systems.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Office 365 suite.
  • Good working knowledge of cloud-based systems.
  • Project management qualification (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence as travel to other sites essential.
