Reporting to: UK Financial Controller

Location: Old Street, 2 days a week in office.


What's the role

We're looking for a Management Accountant to join our UK Finance team. In this role, you will take on diverse accounting responsibilities, including completing balance sheet reconciliations, managing the 16-week cash flow forecast, overseeing GFCC financial operations, and handling the preparation and submission of VAT returns. Additionally, you will play a key role in finance business partnering, collaborating with stakeholders to drive strategic decision-making and providing valuable insights.

What you do

Financial Reconciliation and Oversight:

  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitor and oversee invoice processing for global finance teams (GFCC)
  • Ensure accurate processing and timely execution of the weekly payment run, including verifying payments and reconciling them against the accounts payable ledger
  • Manage VAT return preparation and ensure compliance with UK tax regulations
  • Produce 16-week cash flow reports for liquidity management
  • Oversee fixed asset register and ensure proper recording and depreciation
  • Manage inter-company reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Manage UK supplier finance arrangements

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Produce monthly staff cost per head reports and reconcile with trial balances.
  • Collaborate with GFCC to gather revenue data and analyze variances across all products
  • Prepare monthly financial reports with commentary on variances for staff costs, third-party costs, overheads, balance sheet, revenue and cash flow
  • Partner with FP&A for forecasting and budgeting
  • Process integration and improvement

Ad Hoc Responsibilities:

  • Assist with audit preparation and queries
  • Support budgeting and forecasting as required
  • Process integration and improvement

Who you are

  • Self-starter: Motivated to meet reporting deadlines, proactive, resourceful, and able to take initiative.
  • Organised: Strong organisational skills, capable of prioritizing tasks to ensure timely and accurate financial report delivery.
  • Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Skilled in interpreting financial data, spotting trends, and ensuring accuracy in reporting.
  • Problem Solver: Able to identify challenges and craft innovative solutions to financial and operational issues.
  • Adaptable: Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong Communicator: Clear and effective communicator with both internal and external teams.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets with a willingness to learn new technology platforms.
  • Professionally Qualified or Studying: Holding or actively pursuing an accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) to demonstrate technical expertise.
  • Value-Aligned: Demonstrates alignment with our company values and culture.
