Sports Coach

Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coach to deliver high-quality sports sessions during the school day and after school. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage children and young people in physical activity, fostering a love for sports while providing a practical and engaging PE session or after school club activity. The hours for this role will be set as follows:
Monday – 4 hours in the afternoon
Tuesday – 1 after school club
Wednesday – 1 after school club
Thursday – 4 hours in the afternoon
Friday – 1 lunchtime club, 1 after school club and 1 evening club
Please only apply if your are flexible and available for the above hours. The hours will increase only if you want more hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise, and deliver engaging sports sessions tailored to the needs and abilities of children and young people.
- Lead after-school sports clubs and evening programs, ensuring sessions are fun, inclusive, and safe.
- Promote participation, skill development, and positive attitudes toward physical activity.
- Build positive relationships with participants, parents, and school staff to encourage ongoing involvement in sports.
- Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding policies, health and safety regulations, and organisational guidelines.
- Manage sports equipment, ensuring it is maintained, set up, and stored properly.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
- Level 2 coaching qualification in at least one sport (or equivalent).
- Proven experience delivering sports sessions to children and young people.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt coaching techniques to suit varying skill levels and abilities.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Availability to work flexible hours, including after-school hours and evenings.
Desirable:
- Multi-sport coaching qualifications.
- Experience working with diverse groups, including children with additional needs.
- Familiarity with local community sports initiatives.
Personal Attributes:
- Passionate about promoting sports and physical activity.
- Organised and reliable with strong time management skills.
- Approachable, friendly, and able to build rapport with children and young people.
