Our home at the London Stadium has a capacity of 62,500 making it one of the biggest club Stadia in the country however our tickets are the lowest priced for London based clubs in the Premier League, echoing objectives to create Affordable Family Football.
In 2018, our Women's team gained a professional status for the very first time, jumping 2 divisions and competed in the Women's Super League (WSL), the premier division of women's football in England. After finishing a respectable 7th, the team enjoyed particular success in the FA Cup reaching the final of the competition, eventually being beaten by 2017 winners Manchester City.
In April 2019, we opened our brand-new Academy facility based at Chadwell Heath which will help to bring through some of the very best talents in the area, the recent emergence of First Team Players Declan Rice and Ben Johnson are a testament to the work already being done at the Academy.
On the business side, we are continuing to create a Stadium our supporters can call home, with the renaming of the Billy Bonds Stand and Claret and Blue pitch surrounding amongst the latest developments. Additionally, the Club has achieved the Disability Confident Leader status.
The Club employees a constantly growing workforce of approximately 300 core staff and 500 Foundation and events staff, and is a truly unique place to work. We welcome talented individuals who will thrive in our ambitious organisation.

At West Ham Foundation, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Department, providing essential support in managing financial operations, including the purchase and sales ledger functions, credit control, and other key processes.
Key Responsibilities;
Purchase Ledger Management:
oOversee the purchase ledger function, ensuring accuracy and timely processing of invoices and payments.
Sales Ledger and Credit Control:
oAssist with the sales ledger, ensuring invoices are issued and processed accurately.
oSupport credit control activities, including monitoring outstanding balances and following up with customers for payments.
Bank Reconciliations:
oPerform monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations:
oReconcile key balance sheet accounts, including trade debtors and creditors, monthly.
Expense and Cash Management:
oAssist with the processing of staff expenses and manage cash requests in line with company policies.
Purchase Order System:
oSupport the administration and processing of the purchase order system, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Finance Email Inbox Management:
oServe as the first point of contact for the general finance email inbox, responding to queries professionally and efficiently.
Sage 200 Accounting System:
oUtilise the Sage 200 accounting system to manage financial data and transactions. Training will be provided, but prior knowledge of Sage 200 is required.
Ad Hoc Support:
oAssist the Head of Department with ad hoc tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
Please note this is a Fixed Term contract for 4 months from March 2025.
Requirements:
Key Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills:
oProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
oFamiliarity with Sage 200 accounting software (training provided).
Organisational Skills:
oHighly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Team Player:
oCollaborative attitude with excellent interpersonal skills to work within a team environment.
Communication Skills:
oStrong written and verbal communication skills for handling email queries and financial documentation.
Adaptability:
oWillingness to take on varied responsibilities and contribute to the broader needs of the department.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a finance role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong numerical skills and attention to accuracy.
- A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn and develop within the role.
