About the Job

Acuigen provide customer and client feedback services and technology to UK and international professional services firms. We are looking for a new team member to join our Technical Team as an IT and Data Engineer, working in our offices in Cranfield, Beds.

Acuigen is an ambitious company, which undertakes projects, often at short notice, requiring the company to be adaptable, creative and deliver robust solutions to a contracted timescale.

What you will be doing?

This role is to undertake both network and IT maintenance and support our in-house developed client feedback solution, CustomServe, which provides our clients with a 24/7 service. You will have wide range a wide range of networking tasks that supports the maintenance of our ISMS.

This role would suit a person who wants to widen their general network and IT experience, data management, application testing, AI, and application security skills.

Who are we looking for?

We are interested in hearing from individuals with the following:

Essential Technical Skills

  • Good understanding and experience of network maintenance
  • Good understanding of Office 365 usage (GP, maintenance etc)
  • Experience of working with data within SQL Server and Excel
  • Diagnostic, troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Hands-on experience with hardware maintenance
  • Understanding of enterprise software

Desirable Technical Skills

  • Accurately compile and validate data in Excel, SQL, Access, Word, PowerPoint, creating accurate queries and tables
  • Knowledge of Azure
  • Cyber security/SOC skills/certifications
  • Understanding of dynamic ASP.NET websites, using C#
  • Network qualifications (CompTIA, Microsoft certification, CCNA)
  • Experience with Defender/Trellix or similar antivirus, anti-malware solutions

Personal skills

  • Good written and spoken English language skills
  • Numerical and logic skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Consistent and administratively competent - for example record keeping, checking in work, completing time records, test notes
  • Empathetic when working with clients and colleagues and as part of a team
  • Capable of receiving a brief, interpreting the request, discussing how you plan to proceed with the work, and complete it

Availability

  • Located within 30 minutes travelling time of our office in Cranfield, with own car to travel into the office, or walking distance
  • Be able to participate in a Duty IT Roster, attending offices out of working hours to deal with an IT Incident (server power failure etc.)
  • Willingness to work flexibly outside normal working hours during periods of job/software rollouts/maintenance upgrades, or when a time critical date is approaching

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Supporting Acuigen’s IT systems, networks and CustomServe technology ensuring that that the company maintains operational servers, systems and processes with 365/7/24 availability
  • Configuring CustomServe, validation of configurations, technical documentation

Data Management

  • Contribute to supporting information security, SOC duties, CIA, business continuity services and general IT support to the business
  • To be part of a rostered (out of hours) duty IT team providing network support (duty bonus payable when providing cover)
  • Provide troubleshooting technical and data support for internal and external clients
  • Understand and comply with Market Research Society rules, our ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 20252 systems, the UK Data Protection Act 2018 & GDPR, Health & Safety and Fire Regulations.
  • Other work as requested

  • Starting salary £27,000 pa (>1 years’ experience in a professional IT role), or £32,000 (>3 years’ experience in a IT role)
