The Opportunity
Railsr is looking for an experienced, analytical, and highly responsible Billing Manager to manage our accounting and billing systems and ensure that our financial transactions are accurate and completed within deadlines.
You will be a part of our finance team and manage day-to-day operations, including processing billing information, calculating statements, checking invoices, and processing payments. You will help Railsr by scrutinising the billing process for any irregularities, tracking debts, analysing payment records, and settling other payment issues on an as-needed basis. You will be reporting to the Director of Accounting and Financial Operations.
The role and your responsibilities
- Oversee the entire billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing for all customers.
- Maintain and/or ensure maintenance of client records related to invoicing and bill payment.
- Review the work of Billing and Credit Specialist to ensure accuracy, resolving inconsistencies as needed.
- Create and provide a prioritised list of clients to be invoiced to team members.
- Locate, or assist in the location of, hard-to-reach clients.
- Draft and distribute weekly reports of invoicing and billing metrics.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client contracts, and applicable regulations.
- Provide customer support to customers with disputes or inquiries concerning invoices or billing processes.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure smooth communication of billing information and customer account setup.
- Handle complex billing queries, discrepancies, and escalations, ensuring timely resolution.
- Analyse billing data to identify trends and opportunities to optimise cash flow and reduce billing errors.
Skills and Experience
- You have proven work experience as a Billing Manager or similar role and have relevant training and/or certifications as a Billing Manager.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, Net Suite or related software.
- You have excellent communication skills (across all media), and possess the ability to ‘get things done in a flexible dynamic organisation.
- You have the ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations.
