Assistant Financial Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This role will focus on control and compliance within our financial operations, ensuring that our accounting practices meet regulatory standards and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial principles and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the overall financial health of our company.
What success looks like…
- Financial Control: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Compliance: Support compliance with accounting standards (UK GAAP), tax regulations, and internal policies. Help prepare for audits and ensure timely submission of financial reports.
- Reconciliation: Conduct regular monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and assist with the resolution of discrepancies.
- Internal Audit Support: Assist with internal audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting evidence for compliance reviews.
- Regulatory: Assist with KYC submissions, VAT submissions, sales tax compliance within the US
- Forecasting: Assist with the annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting process in relation to capex as well as input into group cashflow forecasting
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information flow, promoting a culture of financial accountability.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function, contributing to increased efficiency and effectiveness.
What makes a brilliant Assistant Financial Accountant at Artfarm?
- AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA.
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the hospitality industry (however not necessary)
- Strong understanding of financial control and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Dynamics Business Central is advantageous) and Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Jet Reporting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
