- London Borough of Barking & Dagenham is looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner for Schools to manage the Dedicated Schools Budget (DSG) and associated budgets, providing financial advice and support to the Director of Children Services, Education Director and School’s Forum
- To co-ordinate the budget setting process for the DSG and associated budgets to ensure it meets the requirements of the DfE regulations and that local and national timescales are met.
- To co-ordinate all finance processes relating to the DSG including but not limited to the allocation and administration of the National and Local Funding Formulas for the Schools Block, Supervision and monitoring of the local management of budgets for maintained schools, Incorporation of schools finances into the Council’s overall position for the Annual Accounts
- To co-ordinate the annual planning and quarterly monitoring processes for all maintained schools to ensure robust financial planning, accurate forecasting, early identification of pressures, savings and risks and the timely submission of the budget monitoring reports
- To identify financial risks and pressures in Maintained Schools and ensure these are reported in good time to the Head of Service Finance, Education Director and Financial Monitoring Group
- It will be essential for the successful candidate to be fully Qualified CCAB or Qualified Accounting Technician or equivalent or part qualified with experience working with schools. knowledge of schools finance & DSG will be desirable. You will be expected to demonstrate and evidence current relevant experience.
