Come and join an amazing team as a Bank Driver-Porter for West London NHS Trust, you will work in a team of professionals that are highly motivated which carry out a wide and diverse range of duties to support an efficient service delivery to our service users/ visitors and the Trust. This includes driving service users to and from appointments, delivery and collection of goods from various Trust sites and Portering tasks within the sites, i.e.- medicines deliveries, site maintenance, internal moves of furniture and delivery of goods on-site.
If Successful you will undertake a robust mandatory training programme and have a good understanding of manual handling and health and safety, Trust and secondary departmental inductions will be provided.
The below list is not exhaustive, but gives a general overview of the role.
Transport Duties include:
Complete a daily walk round and defect checks and completing the vehicle log sheets appropriately. Making sure all vehicles have fuel, water, oil, screen wash etc.
Ensure that any defects are reported to the Facilities Supervisor. Decommission any defective vehicles from service and liaise with the Facilities Supervisor to assess repairs needed. Any repairs and associated paperwork must be taken to Facilities Coordinator.
Portering Duties:
The lifting, handling, transportation of goods including food, beds bedding, newspapers, furniture and waste.
Provide a postal distribution service for staff and patients and where appropriate assisting in the Post room to sort and process mail.
Maintenance of Portering vehicles and equipment, ensuring weekly audit documentation is completed and any damage / defects are reported to the line manager.
