We have an opportunity in our London Studio for a Marketing and Bid Assistant to cover a six-month period from January 2025 to June 2025. Reporting to the London Marketing Director, this is a role that involves being part of a highly effective regional marketing and business development team.

About the role

This is a varied position in which you will support the London marketing and business development team, engaging with studio staff as well as the wider marketing and communications teams around the practice to streamline BDP’s work-winning efforts.

This role would suit someone looking to start their career in marketing, and give the ideal candidate the opportunity to learn and develop their knowledge and skills across client focused marketing tasks within a global context.

The role will involve supporting members of the bid team with tasks; preparing documents in Word, Powerpoint and InDesign; maintaining marketing collateral; maintaining marketing database and registrations on client portals; and assisting at events as well as other marketing related tasks.

You will be organised, detail-oriented and methodical with strong writing and interpersonal skills. Prior marketing roles and experience within the design or construction industry would be ideal but other backgrounds will be considered.


Tasks:

  • Support the London marketing team in the bid process. This will include reading and understanding key bid deliverables, helping produce and format standard content for submission documents
  • Support members of the bid team with close out tasks, such as content stripping to upload to shared databases, and maintaining records.
  • Collate and maintain sector / group / professional marketing information on BDP Marketing Information Systems
  • Track industry events and updating relevant calendars
  • Support other marketers around the practice in marketing related tasks if required
  • Track and log industry award timetables
  • Update BDP documentation (i.e. insurances) on client portals

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, especially written English
  • Organised and methodical
  • Ability to compile, edit and proofread texts
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe applications (InDesign knowledge is preferred but not required)
  • Willingness to learn and use BDP’s Marketing Information Management systems effectively (Open Asset, Zoho, Deltek) and provide guidance to other staff in their proper use
  • Ability to manage workload and work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, asking questions to ensure tasks can be successfully delivered on time
  • Possess a proactive, understanding and flexible approach to dealing with issues and achieving collective goals
  • Ability to act in a confidential manner when dealing with all BDP activities and not divulge any information concerning the work being undertaken or any other BDP business, either internally or externally

Contract: Full time, 6 months fixed term contract.

Hours: Mon – Fri 9 am-5.30pm (37.5 hours per week), flexible working policy in place, subject to agreement.
