Service Desk Technician
at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust London in London (Published at 08-11-2024)
The post holder will be responsible for delivering 1st line support to the Trust’s customers in a primarily but not exclusively Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office on environment, working alongside the Clinical Information Team assisting in the support of the Electronic Patient Record and CSE RiO.
They will administer Active Directory, Exchange and various patient record systems software creating and maintaining account data. Log service requests by end users of the Trust’s hardware and software including network, telecommunications calls, working predominantly via telephone and email. They will be able to use remote access software, deal with walk in user, third party suppliers logging and maintaining a service request call logging system.

Provide 1 st line hardware, telephony and software technical support and advice to the Trust’s customers, processing telephone email and walk in service requests expediently.
Log and escalate service requests and where needed to ensure users incidents are handled as expeditiously as possible, whether this be an internal escalation, or to external suppliers.
Monitor service requests to ensure time scales are met and appropriate information is feedback to the user
Support, collaborate and assist other Service Desk Technicians as required.
Assist in the maintenance of the Trust’s applications and desktop infrastructure.
Support the Trust’s customer’s software using Microsoft SCCM and RDP remote tools applications.
Assist remote workers, set up and support mobile devices and accounts.
Communicate effectively with staff at all levels, clinical and non-clinical.
Ensure the appropriate communication and escalation of issues or problems to the IT Services Manager, Head of IT, Clinical Information systems leads or other parties as required.
