Background
Part of the Marketing & External Relations Department, the Student Recruitment and Marketing team is responsible for planning and executing strategic marketing and recruitment initiatives for both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes. This role sits within the Postgraduate and International Marketing team, focused on promoting the postgraduate course portfolio at City St George’s in both UK and international markets. The team’s primary objective is to drive an increase in enquiries, applications, and enrolments, thereby supporting the University’s recruitment targets.
Responsibilities
Your role will be to position City St George's as the top choice for high-calibre postgraduate applicants through targeted, data-driven, and innovative marketing initiatives. You will lead a variety of marketing activities, including advertising, email marketing, CRM communications, market research, content creation, and recruitment event promotion, all designed to support postgraduate and international student recruitment from enquiry to enrolment. Alongside managing a team of three marketing officers, you will collaborate with colleagues across the department and university to deliver cohesive and impactful campaigns.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have marketing and student recruitment experience in Higher Education, demonstrating a solid understanding of the postgraduate recruitment cycle, markets and student journey. Proficiency in digital marketing activities is essential, particularly in email marketing, content creation, and advertising. Experience in managing people and projects, as well as collaborating with suppliers and a variety of stakeholders, is required. Strong organisational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are crucial, as well as excellent copywriting and proofreading abilities.
