Assistant Psychologist

This role is located in Camden Learning Disabilities Service (CLDS). CLDS is a fully integrated health and social care multi-disciplinary team for adults and teenagers with learning disabilities either living in the London Borough of Camden (LBC) or for whom Camden maintains responsibility and / or commission services out-of-borough. CLDS is based in LBC premises, but maintains very strong and active links with NLMHP (e.g. training, professional development, overarching clinical and professional governance). The role will include supporting the psychological work with CLDS customers attending the Alexandra College (a Further Education college for young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and / or autistic spectrum conditions);
To support and enhance the psychological work with customers of Camden Learning Disabilities Service including those customers who attend Alexandra College; providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, attending team meetings as appropriate, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits and service evaluations, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects and other project work
The partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the North London Mental Health Partnership.
In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
1.1.1 To assist in the psychological assessment of customers referred to the Psychological Therapies Service, undertaking protocol based psychological assessments using psychometric tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews as appropriate and under direction and supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
1.1.2 To assist in the formulation and delivery of psychological interventions and care plans, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
1.1.3 To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic programmes (including Positive Behavioural Support plans) within Alexandra College as required and under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
1.1.4 To work with other CLDS staff in the assessment and care provided to customers.
1.1.5 To attend and contribute to relevant multi-professional meetings.
