Summary
We’re seeking a talented and visionary Engineering Manager to lead the Anaconda Navigator team in re-imagining the next-generation user experience for Anaconda’s gateway to our unified platform, Anaconda Hub. In this role, you will drive the complete overhaul of Navigator, a vital tool with millions of monthly users, into an efficient, powerful platform that seamlessly connects local users to Anaconda’s suite of services and products. You’ll lead a team in developing a robust cross-platform desktop application, transforming the way users access and interact with Anaconda Hub.
What You’ll Do
  • Leadership and Vision: Shape the future of Anaconda Navigator as the gateway to Anaconda Hub, with a focus on enhancing user productivity and streamlining access to Anaconda’s integrated offerings.
  • Project Ownership: Oversee the full lifecycle of Navigator’s rebuild, from concept to implementation, ensuring strategic alignment with Anaconda’s vision and user needs.
  • Team Management: Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Product Collaboration: Partner with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate user needs into technical solutions that elevate the user experience.
  • Technical Strategy: Drive the technical strategy for cross-platform development using Electron, prioritizing performance, scalability, and integration with Anaconda Hub.
  • Code and Quality Standards: Establish best practices in code quality, security, and architecture, maintaining a smooth development and release process.
What You Need:
  • Proven Experience: 5+ years in engineering management, with a track record of building and deploying desktop applications on Electron or similar technology, ideally with large user bases.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency with Electron, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and cross-platform desktop development. Experience integrating desktop applications with backend services is a plus.
  • Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead teams in agile methodologies, ensuring high-quality, timely product delivery.
  • User-Centric Approach: Passion for understanding user needs and a strategic approach to redesigning user experiences.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong skills in conveying technical concepts and fostering alignment across cross-functional teams.
