On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Lead Internal Auditor for a 6 months contract based Hybrid - 3 days in Waterloo, London.Network Rail is at the heart of revitalising Britain’s railway. As a Lead Internal Auditor your main responsibilities will be to:
- Lead the Audit Team and execute the audit programme following the objectives set by and under the supervision of the Audit Manager.
- Deliver audits according to the scope and time estimate in the agreed Terms of Reference (ToR).
- Prepare the draft ToR, the Audit Programme and the Audit Report.
- Review the audit work carried out by the Audit Team to confirm that Auditors properly conclude on the work performed.
- Coach and train Audit Team
- Maintain constructive working relationships with Auditee.
Essential:
- Professional qualification – qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or IIA or Operational experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – written and verbal, including report writing
- Ability to be a team player and to take the lead when appropriate
- Good problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
- Flexibility of approach, style and attitude.
Desirable:
- Experience within at least two different disciplines within Network Rail
- Risk management experience
- Controls and assurance experience
