Digital Engagement Producer Full Time

The Digital Producer will play a key role in the "From Shadows to Spotlight" project, focusing on the digital aspects of documenting and celebrating the cultural heritage of queer, trans, or intersex people from the global majority and migrant communities in West London. This position involves overseeing the production of digital content, including co-creation with our service users, managing social media platforms, web design and ensuring high-quality digital outputs for broad accessibility.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Digital Content Production:

  • The creation of digital content, including podcasts, social media content, event videos, photography and project related documentaries.
  • Oversee all stages of digital content production, from planning and scripting to filming, editing, and publishing.
  • Ensure that all digital outputs are of high quality and align with the project’s goals, vision and funder acknowledgement guidelines.
  • Design marketing and promotional campaigns and create material such as photographs, flyers, posters, digital content, trailers and banners to recruit project participants, event attendees and audiences.
  • Occasional attendance at events will be needed to capture content, requiring a flexible approach to travel and irregular working hours.

2. Technical Management:

  • Manage all technical aspects of digital media production, including audio and video recording equipment, editing software, and digital storage.
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and utilised effectively.
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues that arise during the production process.

3. Digital Archiving:

  • Develop and maintain a digital archive for the project’s outputs, ensuring that all materials are properly catalogued and stored.
  • Collaborate with the project partners to integrate digital materials into their existing archives.
  • Ensure that the digital archive is accessible to the public and future researchers.

4. Community Engagement:

  • Work closely with community members to capture their stories and experiences in digital formats.
  • Provide training and support to participants in digital storytelling techniques and media production.
  • Facilitate workshops (co-creation labs) and events that engage the community in the production and sharing of digital content.

5. Project Management:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and implement the digital content strategy.
  • Monitor progress and ensure that all digital content production milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Prepare regular progress reports on digital content production and archiving activities.

6. Accessibility and Dissemination:

  • Ensure that all digital outputs are accessible to a broad audience, including those with disabilities.
  • Utilise various digital platforms to disseminate the project’s outputs, including social media, websites, and online archives.
  • Implement strategies to maximise the reach and impact of the digital content.

7. Evaluation and Feedback:

  • Collect and analyse feedback from participants and audience members to improve digital content and engagement strategies.
  • Use data and insights to refine the digital content production process and enhance the overall quality of the outputs.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Proven experience and advanced skills in digital media production, including audio and video editing (Adobe Creative Cloud, Davinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro).
  • Excellent camera operation skills for video production and stills photography.
  • Excellent project management and ability to deliver work on time.
  • Ability to handle constructive feedback with a positive attitude and demonstrate resilience when revising work, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with project goals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding and keen insights into social media content conventions and platform-specific trends.
  • Commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and community empowerment.

Desirable skills & experience:

  • Oral history interview techniques & recording.
  • Audio mixing & mastering using relevant industry software.
  • Workshop facilitation.
  • Experience in community engagement and working with diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of digital archiving practices and principles.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards for digital content.
