Sharon Boland, Head of Operations, Media About the team: The media team at the GSMA is responsible for the delivery of news and insights on the global mobile industry to its subscriber base of 180k readers. Using the Mobile World Live brand, the team provides products and services to companies in the technology industry, helping them reach their audience through advertising or co-branded content. The team is also responsible for generating revenue to support the GSMA. It consists of three groups: editorial (content creation), operations (adverising and content project delivery), and sales (revenue generation through new and existing clients). About the role: The role is key to the success of client projects that use the Mobile World Live brand to reach new markets and influence existing audiences. Advertising is a key channel for client content both in terms of digital banners directly promoting client products and services but also promoting co-branded content. The Mobile World Live website is a key delivery channel for client promotional content as well as the daily news service that is delivered to its readers. During MWC Barcelona, Mobile World Live is the official media channel and is used extensively for promotion of technology brands, products and services. - Programming the ad server to correctly show banners to the right area of the site with the correct campaign frequency and duration
- Work with the development team to build bespoke campaigns for clients such as site / section take-overs
- Report on the performance of advertising on the website
- Ensure that daily emails contain all the correct promotional content
- Maintain a campaign calendar for client activity to make sure all commitments are scheduled accurately and delivered
- Work with the editorial team to build each daily email and make sure all committed campaign slots are contained in the email template so that the team how much editorial content needs to be included
- Report on the performance of advertising in the daily email
- Work with the sales team on print campaigns at the annual GSMA event at MWC Barcelona
- Add bookings to a flatplan making sure all contracted commitments are met
- Liaise with clients on getting content delivered to the right specifications before copy deadlines
About you:
- You will be able to keep a cool head in fast-moving and sometimes stressful situations and thrive on the energy that brings. Publishing is all about deadlines.
- Along with the cool head you will need a keen eye on detail and making sure that campaigns are delivered accurately and according to the contract instructions. A small miss on detail can have a huge negative impact on customer satisfaction.
- You will know about digital media in terms of email creation (Salesforce Marketing Cloud), ad server banner programming (Equativ) and print production.
- You enjoy working with customers and thrive working in a team environment. The Mobile World Live team is small and therefore an affable personality will be a huge benefit in working with both colleagues, your team and our customers.
