The Role

MarketAxess is looking for a Middle Office and Settlements Associate to join our London team. As a part of our Middle Office and Settlements department, you’ll support post-execution process pertaining to Open Trading and non-disclosed activity.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Monitor trade flow and ensure post-trade processes are functioning properly including clearing and confirmation of transactions
  • Address and resolve pending, unmatched and unallocated trades with brokers and customers prior to settlement date
  • Work to effectively resolve discrepancies prior to settlement date
  • Monitor SWIFT, RTTM, CTM, OMGEO/ALERT, DTC ID and other industry tools for timely trade comparison
  • Address and resolve trade breaks with customers and brokers and make corrections in accordance with established processes and procedures
  • Open new accounts to facilitate trade processing
  • Gathering and maintaining contact and settlement information for all Counterparties on the platform
  • Participate in the testing of system enhancements
  • Create and maintain departmental Policy & Procedures
  • Liaise with Sales and Dealer Relationship Managers on all client/trading issues
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to effectively resolve client issues / escalations

What We’re Looking for

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services, preferred
  • Account creation and reference data maintenance – specifically SSI’s
  • Knowledge of CTM/ALERT
  • Proven track record in proactively responding to Counterparty inquiries and requests
  • Experience in working with a Global custodial services provider
  • Processing of daily trades in MO/BO systems in an accurate and timely basis
  • Resolving all trade & settlement breaks (Nostro/Stock/Control reconciliation exceptions)
  • Producing and analysing Trading & Settlement data to better understand counterparty settlement trends and be able to report found information to senior management
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel
  • Proficiency with Word & PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to calmly comprehend and resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
