Job Title: Project Launch Leader

JOB PURPOSE
Are you an experienced Process or Project Engineer in FMCG looking for a new opportunity?
The PSL Factory Project Launch Leader is accountable for the successful start-up of the innovation program in our FMCG production operation. The successful candidate will have the ability to collaborate seamlessly with Engineering and Operations to ensure the right scope is defined, delivered on time and on budget with vertical start up and integration to ongoing production systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads a small flexible team of technical resources
- Owns the change masterplan for the operation to ensure projects are sequenced and resourced optimally
- Ensures necessary downtimes are reflected to production planning systems
- Completes cost and feasibility assessments on all new project requests
- Ensures that the needs of the operation are reflected into project design and success criteria
- Leads the testing and validation of all changes (equipment, work process) and optimization of
- Owns budget definition and delivery on all project start-ups
- Delivers agreed KPIs for start-up on target (Safety, Quality, Reliability, Effort)
- Develops and delivers training program for operators and engineers for all new equipment
- Leads the definition of maintenance strategy, leads the creation of start-up, shutdown, changeover and maintenance procedures, defines and optimizes centrelines, cleaning tasks for all new and modified equipment
- Ensures all new equipment is integrated to Safety, Quality, Maintenance systems (AM/PM) and Training systems
- Defines and delivers training program for operators and maintenance technicians to for new and modified equipment or processes.
ALL ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will have:
- A technical qualification to a degree level (Chemical / Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent)
- A strong understanding of the end-to-end manufacturing process.
- Strong continuous improvement knowledge
- Good commercial acumen and understanding of financial concepts and ability to manage budgets
- Ability to deal with ever-changing fast-paced environment, making quick sound decisions, prioritising and driving changes to the operation in real time
- Demonstrated skills in leading small teams and influencing large cross functional teams and stakeholder management
- Demonstrated project management skills.

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
