As a Temporary Works Design Engineer, you'll play a vital part in supporting various sectors of our clients business. Your role involves aiding the tendering team in developing construction methodologies and leading projects through preconstruction design, providing designs, and offering technical support during construction.

Full-Time | Permanent | Office-based

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality designs and CAD drawings in coordination with the design team.
• Assist in developing and mentoring the design team to foster dynamic design solutions.
• Apply Temporary Works design principles per the BS5975 standard and permanent work standards using various materials such as timber, steel, reinforced concrete, and proprietary structural systems.
• Manage projects within tight schedules.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, codes, and are checked and approved following company quality procedures.

Requirements:

• Master's level degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.
• Chartered or near-chartered with recognised institutions (not essential but desirable)
• 5 to 10 years of experience in underground structures temporary works.
• Strong technical skills with expertise in structural design and a solid geotechnical foundation.
• Leadership capabilities to support, mentor, and develop junior engineers.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and design risk assessment processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with the team and internal and external stakeholders.
