Treasury - Test Analyst Full Time

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Treasury Function team as Test Analyst, reporting to our the Treasury Transformation Lead. The role is offered on a fixed term basis for an initial period of up to 6 months.

Arriva Treasury, provides support, advice, and execution services to Arriva companies regarding various areas including funding and liquidity, cash management, FX and interest rate risk management, fuel hedging, guarantees and other related treasury services.

The treasury operation drives ongoing efficiency improvements and development of optimal treasury processes while ensuring strong internal controls. The function is also responsible for maintaining relationships with internal teams and external counterparties such as banks and other treasury related service providers.

This role is based from our Sunderland office, a minimum of 2 days per week with the rest focusing on where you can best deliver, whilst still allowing for the required work life balance. The role operates Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week with 1 hour lunch per day.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

The position of Treasury Test Analyst will involve a variety of regular responsibilities as well as occasional ad-hoc projects across the treasury function.

  • Develop a test strategy based on programme deliverables in line with the project plans and Arriva test requirements.
  • Produce a detailed test plan covering test cycles, system and data requirements to enable the tests and produce daily and weekly test progress and test completion reports.
  • Derive comprehensive test and user cases based on the business requirements.
  • Create a reporting matrix detailing test cases and results.
  • Manage day-to-day testing activity ensuring all defects are raised in the appropriate tools in a timely manner and escalated to the correct level.
  • Work with the Project Managers, Business and IT Development Leads to ensure engagement during testing phases ensuring appropriate sign-off of test results according to original requirement specifications.
  • Report bugs/issues and manage resolution.
  • Act in accordance with all Arriva UK policies, with the FSA's principles, rules and guidance and other relevant legislation.

What we'd like from you!

We’re looking for a proactive individual to join the team, educated to a minimum undergraduate level with a relevant degree in finance, accounting or business and with good knowledge overall of Treasury and its instruments (Cash Management and Liquidity planning, including cash pooling and concentration).

We’ll also be looking for candidates who hold or are working towards a recognised Treasury qualification i.e. ACT or similar.

Candidates must also have:

  • Experience in end-to-end testing of Treasury Management Systems (TMS) in a Corporate or Financial services environment, preferably with ‘Reval’ experience.
  • Experience in testing ‘Swift MT’ messages and payments.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Ability to deliver tasks to a consistently high standard and to specific deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy on testing records and activities within Treasury systems, whilst producing quality reporting and insight analytics.
  • Compliance awareness relating to regulatory and internal control policies.
  • Ability to identify and deliver value to the Arriva Group in conjunction with the wider Treasury team and operating business.
