As a rough guide, we collaborate in the office at least half the time.
The Team
You will be joining the Analytics Engineering Team, that sits at the interface between our Software Engineering and Analytics Consulting teams, and, in general, tries to blend skills from across these disciplines. Members of the team serve a pivotal role in our cross-functional delivery teams, assisting with the design and creation of complex analytical features, whilst also helping to facilitate effective communication across the team.
The Role
As an Engineering Manager at QuantSpark, you will serve as a leader in the Analytics Engineering team, providing guidance to engineers of varying experience levels. You’ll work across multiple projects, helping to oversee the technical delivery of products and features related to the data platforms we build for our clients. Our project teams work cross functionally, and you will collaborate closely with product managers and technical leads to determine appropriate resourcing, timelines and technical approaches. You will be expected to engage with our clients, primarily interacting with technical stakeholders, to ensure the seamless integration and deployment of our solutions. You will also need to coordinate with Service Managers as needed to guarantee product support.
As a line manager for both junior and senior Analytics Engineers, you will focus on team growth and development through coaching and mentorship. By supporting and developing engineers, you will pinpoint opportunities to enhance processes and implement data engineering best practices to boost efficiency and grow the company. Occasionally, you’ll assist the Commercial Team by providing technical guidance on proposals for new work.
Requirements
- Oversee the work of a cross-functional data team to build scalable data solutions.
- Architect data engineering and model engineering solutions, ensuring they are extendable, maintainable and follow best practices
- Deliver against an analytical workplan and the Analytics Engineering strategy by managing multiple projects and workstreams to a high standard
- Manage client relationships with technical or SME stakeholders, preparing technical documentation where required
- Act as a key contributor on the most complex of features across the project portfolio
- Analyse existing data architectures and provide advice on how to develop effective data connectors, ETL/ELT processes and data warehouses / datacubes
- Lead work-streams and delegate key priorities effectively
- Lead and support your line managees and others in the team, both in their technical delivery and personal development
Technical requirements:
- Advanced coding skills in Python with experience with Numpy/Pandas
- Apply software engineering best practices like version control and CI/CD
- High level of commercial awareness and business acumen for client interactions
- Experience with relational database design for data warehousing and advanced ability in SQL.
- Strong knowledge of Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP
- Understanding of non-relational database design (e.g. MongoDB)
- Demonstrable experience of leveraging data to deliver value-driving insights for
Responsible for managing team meetings and overall team governance, ensuring solutions are well documented, and built to relevant technical standards
Works with the Head of Engineering and SLT to deliver an Analytics Engineering team strategy, planning out team OKRs and relevant growth and process improvement

- High level of commercial awareness and business acumen for client interactions
- Experience with relational database design for data warehousing and advanced ability in SQL.
- Strong knowledge of Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP
- Understanding of non-relational database design (e.g. MongoDB)
- Demonstrable experience of leveraging data to deliver value-driving insights for businesses e.g. predictive modelling, automated reporting, etc. Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) is preferred
