The Opportunity
Arup are seeking to appoint an offshore geotechnical engineer to join the established Geotechnics Group in the Arup London office, which comprises some 100 geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists.
The candidate will join the existing Energy Geotechnics team, who are looking to build their offshore capability to boost a growing portfolio of projects related to the energy transition, including offshore wind foundations, cables and landfalls, CCUS/hydrogen facilities, interconnector cables and geological disposal facilities (GDF) for radioactive waste.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking for a Chartered (CEng MICE or equivalent) Engineer with skills in geotechnical consulting, working within multidisciplinary design teams. As an Associate, you will be mentoring, and managing junior staff, assisting with their development, and ensuring project delivery. You will work on and manage projects focussing on the energy transition, but potentially involved on bridges and coastal/maritime projects.
You will work across a wide range of disciplines including engineering geology, seismic engineering, nautical engineering, and maritime engineering to deliver a wide range of services. You will also use these skills to characterise site conditions, design and investigate fixed and floating offshore foundations, and support offshore pipeline and cable routing projects. You will plan, manage, supervise, and interpret ground investigations and laboratory test results.
A good appreciation of working on UK based projects and ground conditions is required, but international experience is desirable. An ability to drive the development of digital tools and other technological advances would be beneficial.
In addition to technical input to projects, the candidate will be assist in the management and continuing development of the Energy Geotechnics team in London, as well as contributing to regional and global capability and business development.
