We have partnered with prestigious government department in their search for a new Senior Finance Business Partner to join their dynamic Finance, Portfolio and Performance (FPP) team on a permanent basis. The team’s mission is to lead the delivery of the department's Strategy and corporate priorities through meticulous business and financial planning, performance analysis, and the support of various projects and programs within Parliament. They also provide crucial financial services, systems, accounting, reporting, and member services to ensure the service operates efficiently and effectively every day.

As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be integral to building strong relationships within the organisation, driving effective financial management, and embedding finance and public value at the core of decision-making. Your role will be to bridge the Finance Business Partnering Team with the central financial management team and facilitate constructive challenges and enhance financial processes. Your strategic planning, reporting, and analysis skills will be crucial in supporting long-term planning, budgeting, forecasting, and investment appraisals.

Senior Finance Business Partners are expected to be business experts with strong interpersonal skills, capable of translating and presenting complex financial information clearly. You will provide valuable financial advice, strategic insights, and business solutions to directors and other budget holders, particularly in larger or more complex areas, focusing on business cases.

Stakeholder engagement and leadership is essential. You will build and maintain key relationships, manage senior managers' and stakeholders' expectations, and develop a deep understanding of the business's commercial and operational drivers. Previous experience of line management is desirable.

Criterion 1
It is essential that the applicant holds a professional finance qualification (CCAB or equivalent).

Criterion 2
A confident communicator, comfortable with advising and challenging senior business leaders, including the ability to put complex financial issues into layman’s terms for non-specialist audiences.

Criterion 3
Ability to influence at all levels of the business hierarchy, using logical persuasion and consensus building within groups.

Criterion 4
Leadership, and the ability to motivate and develop a diverse finance team and promote excellence.

Criterion 5
Highly proficient in using and interpreting data and analytics to support analysis and decision making, identifying gaps in data and reporting and working with colleagues to develop additional reporting as required.
