Role
Forbes Solicitors are looking for an IT Applications Analyst to join our IT team at our Walton Summit office in Preston. This is a full-time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This is a great opportunity for a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for innovation to join a developing IT team within a professional services setting.
The IT Applications Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all IT applications, business processes, and operational processes are fully utilised to support the organisation’s strategic objectives. This role involves working closely with end-users, business process owners, and technical teams to optimise the deployment, management, and integration of applications, ensuring they align with business and operational needs. The role includes development, implementation, troubleshooting, system improvement, and providing training to ensure effective application use across the organisation.
The role will be responsible for:
- Application Development, Implementation, and Support;
- System optimisation and customisation;
- Business and operational process alignment;
- Change request impact analysis;
- Collaboration with application end users and suppliers;
- Data management and reporting of systems;
- Testing and deployment of new applications;
- Creation and delivering of applications training;
- Project Management of IT and Business projects;
- Continuous Improvement of workflows and IT systems;
- General software system administration.

We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on applications demonstrating the following knowledge, experience, and skills:
- 2 to 5+ years of experience in IT application support, application management, or a similar role (experience across all levels will be considered);
- Degree or Higher National Diploma in IT discipline (or equivalent);
- Experience of enterprise applications such, PMS (Practice Management System), CMS (Case Management System), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and QMS (Quality Management Systems) or other business-critical applications and preferably within a Legal practice/environment. (Experience of Partner for Windows CMS/PMS is a plus);
- API integration skills for working with third-party systems and application integration (programming skills is a plus);
- Experience in data management, including cleansing, transformation, and verification;
- Strong business process mapping and problem-solving skills;
- Strong understanding of testing and deployment processes, including user acceptance testing.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills;
- SQL and database management experience for building data sets and reports;
- Experience with reporting tools like Power BI or SSRS for data analysis and report generation;
- Experience of Scripting for workflow automation is a plus;
- Project management experience in application deployment, upgrades, and enhancements;
- Strong understanding of IT applications, Databases, business processes, and their integration within an organisation.
- Ability to train and support end-users to ensure effective application utilisation.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work across teams and liaise with third-party vendors, and to explain technical concepts to non-technical users;
- Prior professional experience with SharePoint and Microsoft technologies is highly desirable;
