- To confirm Item of Supply (IoS) identity, identifying True Manufacturer and Equipment Supplier identifying references.
- To screen identifying references against UK CSIS and NSPA NATO Master Cross List systems to identify any pre-existing NSNs.
- To identify corresponding NATO Commercial & Government Entity Codes (NCAGE) to identify manufacturers and suppliers.
- To locate or obtain source data, in compliance with Defcon 117, though manufacturer or supplier websites, catalogues, datasheets, google searches etc, to support new codification requests.
- To submit eTasking requests though UK CSIS in accordance with UK eTasking Guide, for allocation of new NSNs, or update of existing NSNs, and introduction to appropriate UK Base Inventory System.
- To progress items through to NSN allocation, resolving any queries raised by the UK National Codification Bureau or authorised codification contractor.
- To perform allied duties as required by the Manager.
- To abide by Allan Webb company policies and procedures.
NOTES
Efficient execution of the duties listed under your Job Description entails:
- Extraction/interpretation of technical data from engineering drawings, specifications, catalogues, etc.
- A working understanding of the NATO Supply and Classification System.
- An ability to deal courteously and efficiently with MOD and Commercial customers by both telephone and letter/email.
- Ability to use AWL Computer/Software package, ISIS, NMCRL systems.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings to suggest Approved Item Name codes (AIN) and NATO Supply Class (NSC).
