Johnston fuels is a leading independent fuel supplier, delivering heating oil, commercial fuels, lubricants and LPG to homes and businesses across Scotland and the North of England. From these foundations we have now developed to 22 group companies supporting 375 staff. We are currently looking for someone to lead our IT strategy.
You will be responsible for -
- Project managing IT requirements of all new acquisitions and depots
- Managing the helpdesk, and supporting all companies within the group. Providing support for a user base of over 350 staff.
- Admin for all group software systems.
- Networking, configuration & cable management of head office & remote sites. Management of depot server rooms.
- Managing the development and innovation project board. Continuing to improve our existing software and services.
- Managing the IT cost centre, providing progress reports & analysis to the Financial Director.
- Proposing and negotiating the I.T budget for over 40 group cost centres.
- Managing and contracting external suppliers.
- Procurement for any required I.T Equipment.
- Sys Admin for all local desktop, laptops and phones. Managing MDM software.
- Fully integrating diverse acquisitions into the Johnston Fuels Group.
- Attend weekly/monthly project meetings with key suppliers.
- Provide and manage development road map for all companies within the group.
- Routinely attend site depots. Provide out of hours support when required.
- Manage hosted desktop and hosted telephony system. Managing upgrades, health checks, call plans etc
- Liaise with suppliers for installing/upgrading circuits.
- Assist with the setup of CCTV and remote access.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an IT service delivery or technical support capacity
- Strong troubleshooting skills with thinking outside the box
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Solid understanding of computer networking principles and protocols
- Familiarity with desktop support in Windows, Linux, and Mac OS environments
