Cranleigh STEM has partnered with a renowned company that designs and manufactures superconducting electromagnets for science and is looking for a passionate individual to join their team in West Sussex.

We are looking for a Test Installation & Service Manager to lead the TI&S team, and oversee the daily operations of the TI&S team by assigning tasks, defining responsibilities, and monitoring progress.

Additionally, develop and uphold the TI&S schedule to ensure all commitments are fulfilled, involving the management of the engineering team, their equipment, and resources both within the factory's test areas and at customer locations worldwide.

To be considered you should possess previous experience in a relevant installation or service engineer/manager role, possess excellent communication and customer service skills and be willing to travel internationally.

: Full-time
Pay: £45,000 - £55,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embrace a flexible approach to adapt to evolving requirements, and proactively manage future workloads by ensuring adequate resources, equipment, and staffing.
  • Foster the development of the test team through ongoing training and hands-on experience, maintaining competency records to enable appropriate task allocation.
  • Promote proactive problem-solving while balancing the need to escalate issues to technical authorities as necessary.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers and potential clients, offering advice and solutions, which may include out-of-hours phone support.
  • Provide precise cost estimates for projects, generate and document quotations, and oversee orders to drive business growth.
  • Ensure meticulous records are kept for testing and service work, adhering to company standards and produced in a timely fashion.
  • Cultivate a positive “can-do” attitude within the team, prioritizing safety above all else and ensuring the successful completion of tasks.
