The Person
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations across our three main divisions (Healthcare, Primary Care, Imaging). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, an in-depth understanding of the healthcare sector, including the National Health Service (NHS), an experience managing complex corporate structures. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, driving financial strategy, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and supporting the company's growth objectives.
This role will be based at our head office in Peckham - 60 Chadwick Rd, London SE15 4PU and will be on a part-time basis working 4 days per week.
The Role
The role requires working knowledge of NHS contracting and frameworks to support and drive business development, alongside a strong insight into the teleradiology, insourcing, and outsourcing markets, including competitor analysis, to position the company for optimal financial performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
- Oversee long-term budgetary planning, forecasting, and cost management in alignment with the company's strategic plan. Strategically position the company to ensure robust financial performance and profitability.
- Leverage tendering and proposal experience, utilising market insights, to drive growth.
- Financial Management and Reporting:
- Lead and manage all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis for the executive team, board of directors, and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimise financial performance.
- Healthcare Sector Expertise:
- Apply deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, including NHS operations and funding mechanisms, to inform financial decisions and strategies.
- Developing a strong understanding of the teleradiology, insourcing and outsourcing markets, including competitor analysis, to position the company financially for success.
- Navigate the complexities of healthcare regulations, reimbursement models, and financial challenges within the sector.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare industry, including NHS representatives, insurers, and regulatory bodies.
- Corporate Structure and Compliance:
- Manage the financial aspects of a complex corporate structure, including subsidiaries, joint ventures, and partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with all financial, legal, and regulatory requirements, including those specific to the healthcare sector.
- Lead risk management efforts, identifying and mitigating financial risks across the organisation.
- Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other members of the executive team to drive cross-functional initiatives and achieve organisational goals.
- Represent the finance function at board meetings, providing insights and updates on financial performance and strategy.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in senior financial leadership roles, with a strong preference for experience in the healthcare sector.
- Proven experience working with complex corporate structures and in-depth knowledge of NHS operations and financial management.
- Expertise in financial forensic investigations and a strong understanding of related legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies that drive organisational success.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
