Trust Grade SPR (ST3+ level) General Surgery Full Time

Applicants are invited to apply for a Trust Grade SPR (ST3+ level) post in General Surgery for one year on a fixed term contract. This post will be based at St Mary’s Hospital but may include cross site working.

The successful candidate will be working at the middle grade level as a Trust Grade Registrar with previous experience in Surgery and looking to further develop their knowledge and skills in the area.

Applicants must be eligible for registration or hold full registration with the GMC and will be expected to participate in a 1:9 on-call rota. They must have the ability to organise and manage outpatient priorities, surgical waiting lists, operating lists and rotas as well as demonstrate strong communication and team working skills.

The department has a growing quality improvement, research and audit unit and involvement in research is also actively encouraged.

JOB PURPOSE

The post holder is intended to work at Registrar level, supporting and aiding the clinical ward work, the Outpatient workload and Elective and Emergency operating of the Department. A pay banding supplement is payable for participation in the on-call rota at middle grade level.

Although this post is not a recognised training post, you will have a wide opportunity to develop your surgical skills and you will be expected to have a strong academic commitment and to be part of the ongoing academic and audit activities of the department.

You will be part of a 1 in 9 on call rota.
