Job Description
Based within the Chief Executive’s Department and reporting to the Council lead for the NIHR Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) Glasgow, this is a key organisational role within a high-profile cross-city partnership (the Council, NHSGGC, University of Glasgow, HSCP and GCPH) designed to bring evidence into the heart of decision making within Glasgow City Council.
It stems from a funding bid to the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) in which the city partnership led by Glasgow City Council was awarded a one-year development year with the aim of transitioning to five-year funding after successful progress has been observed in the development phase.
The HDRC Glasgow is based on the understanding that shifting the trends in health inequality in Glasgow lies in addressing the wider determinants of health – the circumstances in which people live and work. To achieve this the collaboration brings together the partners in the goal of integrating research evidence into decision-making processes across the various areas of the Council where it can influence health and inequality.
This opportunity would involve providing a key coordinating role within the partnership, aligning the work of the three workstreams in the collaboration: Workstream 1: Governance and Management; Workstream 2: Research-Policy Integration Model; Workstream 3: Culture Change & Engagement.
Hybrid working is available in this role. If you’re shortlisted for the post we look forward to telling you more about our approach to ensuring needs of the business are met along with flexibility to manage and maintain your work life balance.
This post is temporary for a period up to 24 months.
