We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and determined individual to join our Technical Team as Technical Support Specialist working for a growing Automatic Identification (AutoID) and Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) Distributor based in Osbaldwick, York.
This is a great opportunity for someone embarking on their technical career and not wanting to follow the further education route.
Hours: 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday office based role.
Start: Immediate
Role: You will be delivering telephone and e-mail support in response to requests from our customers and colleagues based on the products sold by Varlink. It is therefore important that you are comfortable and confident using the telephone to communicate with customers.
You will also be involved with carrying out reworks for customer orders, configuring devices to customers specification, and investigating and repairing faults.
In addition, there will be an element of IT support (PCs, laptops, phones, printers, etc) within the role.
You will work well under pressure on your own and as part of a team, have excellent communication & customer handling skills and ideally will have at least two years support experience probably in an IT, networking, wireless communication, or mobile solutions environment.
You must have basic computer skills, including use of MS Office products. Previous experience in a technical call handling/telephone help desk/customer service environment is preferable.
An understanding of Auto ID and EPoS hardware would be an advantage.

You must be able to easily commute to our offices at YO19 5UX, so a full driving licence and car are desirable.
