Salary: Up to £27,000.00 per year

We have an opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join their team of staff.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern, this is a hybrid position ideally based around Mansfield.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a high-volume payroll processing environment
  • Experience in using Workday payroll software essential
  • An understanding and experience of running healthcare payrolls
  • In-depth knowledge of PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP, SAP etc.
  • Good working knowledge of MS products such as Excel, Word etc.
  • Familiar with RTI processes
  • Knowledge of Pensions Auto- enrolment legislation
  • Ideally recent experience with Workday payroll system.

Duties of this role include:

  • Payroll production of monthly and weekly Payrolls using Workday
  • Compliance with the Group’s Policies and procedures
  • Pensions Automatic Enrolment
  • Process new hires and terminations
  • Processing absences including SSP, SAP, SMP, SPP ShPP
  • Reviewing exception reporting to identify anomalies
  • Effective liaison with HR Administrators, Line Managers, Regional Finance, internal third-party Benefits Administrators (Pensions GAYE, Payroll Giving, Cycle to Work), external third-party benefits providers and HMRC
  • Answering pay and related queries from staff, HMRC and other relevant bodies by phone, email and letter
  • Assist in the reporting of annual ONS data
  • To support the business to provide an accurate and timely payroll service
  • Providing advice and guidance to employees and managers
