Job Advert – Finance Assistant

We are looking for a full time energetic and dynamic individual, as a Finance Assistant to join the CFO and team, to manage the organisations accounting ledgers and related systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Are you a confident individual with the drive and passion to deliver a first-class service to the business and work independently on a day-to-day basis when required?

The role will be predominantly transaction based, managing the PL/SL/Banking and working closely with the regional teams to ensure expenditure is correctly managed/paid and Housing Benefits income is correctly billed and received. Additional tasks will include month end and audit support, working with debt collection, budgeting and seeking ways to improve data analysis and decision making. You will also assist in the preparation of Management Accounts, where possible.

Essential Skills:

  • Managing invoice processing and Purchase Ledger (PL)/Staff Expenses.
  • Raising Sales invoices, Sales ledger (SL) and some debt collection experience.
  • Bank and Credit Card reconciliations.
  • Setting up payments within the online banking portal.
  • Creating and solving full double entry bookkeeping and be able to post manual journals.
  • Intermediate in Microsoft Excel and a range of formulas to analyse data.
  • Xero or equivalent cloud-based ledgers.
  • Has, or is studying for their accounting qualifications.

Desirable Skills:

· Experience with CRM systems, Housing or Property Management tools.

· Previous experience of working within housing, health or social care.

· Xero Apps, Pleo and Barclays.net portal or system integrations.

· Business Process analysis and documentation.

  • Be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated, organised and resilient.
  • Have excellent communication skills and experience within a similar role.
