About the role
This is a role for a Criminal Investigator - Trading Standards professional who will form part of the Councils Trading Standards and Proceeds of Crime Service. You will work on investigation and enforcement activities including pro duct safety, doorstep crime, fraud, illicit alcohol and tobacco as well as a wide range of other trading standards enforced legislation.
You will manage a complex caseload of investigations and complaints and ensure that you contribute effectively to team plans and Council priorities.
The Trading Standards and Proceeds of Crime Team is part of the Councils Public Protection and Enforcement service which includes Environmental Health, Licensing and Street Scene Enforcement.
About you
You will have demonstrable experience in carrying out criminal investigations and enforcement actions. Ideally, you’ll have experience of enforcing Trading Standards legislation and have extensive experience of working with the PACE codes of practice. You will you be able to contribute confidently to Team Plans and Council priorities and ensure that high standards of work are maintained.
You will be motivated, possess strong investigative skills and be highly organised. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills are expected as the role requires dealing with victims of crime in a sensitive and compassionate manner.
You will have strong experience with the production of prosecution cases and be well versed at presenting evidence in Court.
