Production Assistant, International Formats Full Time

The role of Sony Pictures Television is to sell Features, TV Movies and Series, Scripted and Unscripted formats and series to international buyers, including broadcasters, platforms, producers and sponsors.

This role will be assisting the Production Consultancy team for International Formats as they enable the roll-out and ongoing management of primarily unscripted formats across the globe, via Sony’s own International Production Companies, and via the Territory Sales teams to 3rd party producers, broadcasters, platforms and sponsors.

The Production Assistant will provide production admin support to the Prod Consultancy execs in the International format team, to ensure the smooth running of consultancy functions, including managing diaries, booking travel, supporting new launches and ongoing international productions, as well as supporting pre-sales activity including collating and distributing product and production information both internally and directly to clients.

The role will also include maintaining international production materials and databases, supporting the wider International Formats team with information, and responding in a timely manner to requests for production data required for reports and presentations to the wider Sony teams including production companies & distribution execs, stakeholders and clients.

What you'll do:

  • Provide support to Senior team members (to include Executive Director, Senior International Consultant and International Consultant) including diary management, preparation and processing of expenses, booking travel, coordinating international trips and pre-production sessions (remote and in-person), providing data for T&E budget.
  • Provide general assistant support on an ad hoc basis to other members of the Consultancy team, in terms of booking travel and organizing trips and pre-production & other client meetings.
  • Maintain and update the production tracking documents, including logging material sent and received from licensees and Sony Opcos.
  • Collate and maintain a database of production information for Sony’s formats including but not limited to screeners, production know-how, budgets and local format adaptations.
  • Assist team in collection of assets and information for production bibles, including assembling and formatting elements for production Bibles.
  • Main point of contact for database of bibles (currently on Box) and when requested send bible information to clients and Sony Stakeholders

Assist in the maintenance and updating of information required for the distribution of finished episodes of formats:

  • Collecting and tracking show reports from licensees
  • Reconciling sales information with post production reports
  • Assisting asset management where required
  • Support our Production Consultancy team in preparations for client and partner meetings
  • Aid the International format team at key sales events, including MIPCOM, LA Screenings, London Screenings and other local markets and screenings. Support to include arranging travel for production consultancy execs, booking relevant meetings and dinners and collating production information for meetings.
  • Provide input for sales reports for format owners, both internal and external, as requested by Executive Director
  • Preparing client follow-up packages as requested to include screeners, product information and other bespoke production information.
  • Use of Box, CI, Runner, Connect, PSS and other Sony databases to support format roll-outs.

What you have:

  • Typically, 1-2 years’ experience of working in an office environment – ideally with 6 months in a TV production environment – and interest in TV distribution / production business.
  • TV Production training or qualifications highly desirable
  • Experience in Production administration, such as tracking, working on sales reports and databases, production bibles.
  • Proven experience handling executives diaries & international travel arrangements.
  • Highly numerate & computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) – must be very adaptable and confident with computer systems (particularly databases).
  • High level of organisation & ability to multitask, set priorities and meet deadlines whilst maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and confident team player
