About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a design graduate to join the Trueform team, joining in a developmental role, with strong career progression opportunities.

The post holder will develop specific knowledge of bus stops & shelter infrastructure and be actively involved in developing streetscapes across all Greater London, supporting Trueform and London Busses (TfL) in delivering a world-class transport network.

The role will include exposure and development in several different areas of design and project management. Undertaking site survey activities, site design proposal development, the creation of site layout plans and drawings, regular client communication and meeting engagement, and contract administration, this role presents an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic graduate to kick-start their career in a rewarding developmental role.

The role will be based at Trueform’s headquarters in Hayes, Middlesex, office based, with regular visits to future sites for site design reviews.

The successful candidate will be joining a small friendly and supportive team, working closely with a variety of different departments and skilled professionals.

Responsibilities & Duties

Your main responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Undertaking on-site design assessments of new and existing bus stop and bus shelter asset installations.
  • Developing compliant on-site design solutions for asset configurations and their placement, considering multiple site environmental factors.
  • Conducting on-site risk assessments to record reasonings behind the decisions made.
  • Coordination of on-site meetings with multiple stakeholders, to facilitate required consolations.
  • Develop a good working understanding of NRSWA and the Traffic Management Act.
  • Marking up sites detailing the agreed installation locations.
  • Comprehensively completing design report forms.
  • Working closely with the Installations Management Team, to ensure works are coordinated appropriately.
  • Entering information into Trueform’s Asset Management System.

Who we are looking for:

To succeed in this role, you will need to be someone with:

  • An analytical thinker who can absorb a design brief and apply specific design rules to develop a site design proposal.
  • Able to develop a good working understanding of specific site design guidance documentation, along with supporting legislation.
  • Competent CAD user able to develop 2D site layout proposals and drawings
  • Good technical understanding, able to develop a good working knowledge of different materials, manufacturing processes, and material finishes.
  • Strong communication skills; in-person, on-phone, and on-email.
  • Is an engaged team player with a strong desire for operational success and career development.
  • Treats everyone with respect, whilst promoting honesty and positivity within the workforce.
  • Understands the importance of Health & Safety, and the business’ policies and procedures.
  • Appreciates the importance of completing works on-time, demonstrating a ‘can do’ attitude, and willingness to go above and beyond to complete works.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for someone who has the following qualifications and experience:

Required:

  • Graduate from a design-based course such as landscape / urban design, architectural design, or product / furniture design.
  • Competent using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office package.
  • Full standard driving license preferred.
