Cromwell HSK, London + hybrid working (full in office training to start with)

Permanent + Full time (37.5hrs pw)

Within this role as a Credit Control Officer, you will ensure that maximum monies are collected by reducing the age and volume of outstanding accounts in line with the Credit Control Policies and Procedures of the Hospital.

You'll help us make health happen through:

  • Being responsible for managing a debt portfolio of customers, with a focus to resolving aged debt.
  • Building good relationships with customers and liaising on a daily basis with key contacts to pursue prompt payment of invoices.
  • Checking and dispatching routine letters, including a systematic review and chasing of overdue accounts by telephone.
  • Discussion with patients regarding their account and other general queries. Including management of disputes and liaising with internal departments regarding account queries.
  • Reviewing accounts and preparing details to be passed to collection agencies and solicitors as necessary after discussion with the Billing and Credit Control Manager.
  • Providing weekly updates on all accounts to senior management.
  • Working with clients to ensure that unallocated cash is kept to a minimum.
  • Preparing other tasks in line with the nature of the post as directed by the Billing and Credit Control Manager.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships across Finance and with other colleagues across the business.

Key Skills needed for this role:

  • Qualified by experience and be able to demonstrate skills in this area.
  • Highly developed influencing skills with the ability to enthuse and get the buy in of internal or external individuals.
  • Ability to analyse problems and to develop practical and workable solutions to address them.
  • Excellent inter personal and communications skills and demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of work organisation, self motivation, drives for performance and improvement, and flexibility in approach and attitude.
  • Strong sense of commitment to openness, honesty and integrity in undertaking the role.
