Senior Accountant. Up to £50,000 per annum. Fully Remote/Flex on Location. eCommerce Finance Agency.

Depending on the size of our client’s business we deliver our support in a number of ways, from providing a fractional CFO to work hand in hand with the founder to a fully outsourced finance function, where we handle all the bookkeeping, payroll, taxes, cross border expansion, FX management, cost management, forecasting, fund raising, commercial advisory, banking structure and more.

We are working with some of the most exciting and award winning brands across the UK, Ireland and most recently in Dubai.

As well as the strategic support we give to our clients we also take care of their financial compliance ensuring that statutory accounts and taxes are filed and remitted on time. We see this as a critical offering to any sized eCommerce business in the UK and is something that has to be done regardless of size.

Our co-founders have over 30 years of combined experience working in accountancy and have serviced the eCommerce space for the later part of their careers. Whilst their time is spent advising clients on more strategic matters, the also understand the importance of ensuring all compliance matters are handled swiftly and efficiently.

About The Role:

You will be supporting the Co-Founders/CFOs in making this happen, ensuring that all clients statutory accounts are accurate, timely and fully reconciled. Financial Accounting is the foundation of what we do and we obsess over the detail. We strive for real time reporting so that we can give clients financial visibility throughout the month and not just at month end.

You will be responsible for client tax affairs ensuring that all VAT, Corporation, and Personal Tax returns, computations and filings are prepared with precision and on time.

Finally, you will oversee and manage our payroll offering ensuring payrolls are ran on time and returns filed accordingly.

We strive for automation and continuously seek improvement efficiencies in everything we do, minimising menial manual processes as we go.

Client communication and relationship is a big part of our strategy. Clients just want to know they are in safe hands and that the team is handling all services on time. We will strive to give clients visibility here and keep them informed in the most automated way possible.

You would be joining us to help with all these things. Getting stuck in to build amazing brands and grow our clients to the next level, unlocked from the solid financial foundations you help them build, turning finance into a really valuable function that gives our clients accuracy, visibility & strategic direction enabling them to make informed decisions at pace. At the same time, you’ll help define, refine and grow our own financial capability, here at eClarity.

Key responsibilities:

CLIENT FACING:

• Preparation of Statutory Accounts
• Preparation and filing of UK tax matters including Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE and other specialist taxes
• Prepares financial documents and reports for management, shareholders, statutory or other bodies
• Liaises with management and other professionals to compile budgets and other costs
• Prepares periodic accounts, budgetary reviews and financial forecasts
• Utilise accounting software (Xero/Utilise)
• Communicate with the team on any issues or findings
• Ensure timesheets are completed on a weekly basis
• Have an awareness of the various services provided by eClarity
• Maintain a professional working relationship with both clients and the wider eClairty team

INTERNAL:

• Ensure that we are utilising a cutting edge tech stack in a cost effective way
• Collaborate and help build out systems and processes as we grow
• Document all SOPs so that new starters have a point of reference
• Help identify and hire for the right team members as we grow
• Ownership of practice management software ensuring automated workflows exist e.g. Asana / Karbon

Candidate Profile:

• Excellent attention to detail and passion for problem solving
• Advanced Excel skills with experience of building and working with complex models and large data sets
• Focuses on continuous process improvement, and driving efficiencies
• Demonstrates a commercial mind-set, and understanding of business
• Able to build strong relationships, both with the wider Finance team globally and throughout the business
• Ability to be flexible to changing demands within a fast paced business environment
• Organised individual who is able to prioritise multiple deadlines

You have:

• 5+ years experience managing a portfolio of clients working in practice
• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Hungry, determined and passionate about making an impact and driving results
• Experience of working within a Retail, Marketplace or DTC/eCommerce business
• Advanced MS Excel and IT skills (familiarity with graphs, VLOOKUPS and Pivot tables)
• Experience of working with a scale up organisations
• Experience using ecommerce / wholesale / finance platforms
