About Us:
We are a dynamic and rapidly growing designer fashion company seeking a highly skilled and motivated Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to our financial operations and grow with us.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a qualified or part-qualified AAT/ICB/IAB Accountant/Bookkeeper with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Xero cloud accounting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Excel, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Familiarity with Shopify, Zedonk, Amazon, Dropbox, and Google Drive is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately record and allocate purchase invoices in our accounting software.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier communications, including processing both domestic and international payments.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Ensure timely and efficient processing of all payments.
- Reconcile petty cash and maintain organised financial records, both digitally and physically.
- Continuously improve and streamline bookkeeping systems and procedures to align with company growth.
- Review timesheets, assist with payroll, and maintain staff records.
- Maintain and reconcile company bank accounts.
- Oversee and reconcile the sales ledger.
- Manage the company’s credit control function, ensuring prompt collection of outstanding invoices and minimising bad debts.
- Monitor customer accounts for delayed payments, irregularities, and take appropriate action, including sending reminders and initiating legal procedures if necessary.
- Assess the creditworthiness of new customers, setting appropriate credit limits and terms based on financial analysis.
- Collaborate with sales and other relevant departments to resolve any invoicing or payment discrepancies.
- Generate and provide regular aged debtors reports, highlighting potential issues to management.
- Recommend and implement improvements to the credit control process to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Participate in regular meetings with management to discuss accounts receivables and potential credit risks.

Probationary Period: 3 months
Salary: £15.00 per hour
