Description
Location: Commutable to London; 1 day a week in the office based in Elephant and Castle, 2 days remote working. This is a part time position working 3 days per week.

The Early Engagement team works with young people, their networks and employers to support the next generation of talent into successful working lives. Through our aspiration-raising and skill building activities, we inspire, inform and educate young people aged 11-24 throughout key stages of their career journey. We do this on behalf of some of the UK’s largest employers, connecting the future workforce with opportunities such as work experience and apprenticeships.

Our Learning Content function is responsible for the creation of engaging learning resources for a variety of audiences. Typically focusing on employability & skills development for early talent and progression & retention for employees, our products and services deliver real impact for our clients’ people strategies. Learning content is served through various mediums which includes face-to-face school workshops, inspiration days, work experience, and train-the-trainer models, as well as online via our award-winning Connectr SaaS platform. Our content is of strategic importance to our clients and our long-standing relationships with enterprise organisations are testament to its pedigree. Our Learning Content team design and develop content for our client campaigns focusing on innovative methods in terms of instructional design and best practice delivery methods. Key Responsibilities
- Work with leading employers in the UK to meet their early careers, DE&I, and social mobility goals through creating a range of learning content within scope, to a range of timelines and budgets for delivery in schools, colleges, online and directly in the workplace.
- Maintain a balance between innovative content design, delivery practicality, and environmental impact whilst managing content requests at pace in line with agreed SLAs and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Client Delivery and drive the delivery of all internal and external initiatives and management of our learning content library and content development processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs) and conduct research to meet client and end user needs. Communicate our evidence base and your expert learning approach to internal and external stakeholders through skills shares, marketing material etc.
- Ensure a consistent tone of voice across all platforms, aligned to the clients’ or Connectr’s brand guidelines.
- Manage the learning content user experience via face-to-face and online delivery, ensuring that content translates effectively to the end user’s experience.
- Keep track of feedback from our end users and use it to assess the impact of content and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare materials and deliver training for content facilitators and volunteers, providing clear guides and setting expectations.
- Proactively keep up to date with new content trends, delivery methods, learning technologies, curriculum needs and skill gaps. To help stay current with our audiences (especially under-represented groups) and develop in-depth knowledge of how they think, feel, and engage.
- Build and maintain relationships with a pool of content freelancers from our current pool, wider contacts and specialists through headhunting.
- Commission our pool of content freelancers to work on either client campaigns or strategic content projects for Connectr Early Engagement.
- Work with the Head of Delivery to keep on top of the upcoming content pipeline so you can deploy resource as and when needed.
- Be responsible for reviewing and setting content freelancer fee packages alongside Head of Client Delivery (workshop, Insight Day, Work Experience etc.)
- Set clear parameters for these packages to implement consistency.
- Be accountable for the quality of freelancer work, setting quality assurance checks and balances to ensure all work is client ready before it is sent to the client or internal colleagues.
Where are you now?
- You have proven experience in building impactful, engaging and effective learning content for multiple audiences, including employability content for young people in education.
- You have a track record of balancing client needs with end user experience.
- You have instructional design experience; digital, virtual and face-to-face training resources, and facilitation experience across a range of delivery methods.
- You have strong editorial skills and solid understanding of quality assurance processes.
- You have experience commissioning / outsourcing learning content projects to external subject matter experts. Managing contractors to ensure quality of work is to the required standards and to time/budget.
- You will ideally understand the skills landscape including skills gaps, national curriculum, and employee Learning & Development.
