Open Position: Media and Events Manager
We are seeking a colleague to be a part of our team as a Communications and Events Manager.

Position: Media and Events Manager
Salary: £25k - £35k per annum + pension. Salary depending on experience
Hours: Full-time, fixed term contract for 6 months (potential for flexible working)
Location: London (British Interplanetary Society, Vauxhall) or Edinburgh (Argyle House, Lady Lawson Street)
Working pattern: Hybrid with 3 days per week expected in office
This role will involve travel

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Create, implement and deliver marketing and communication plans, internal and external, that effectively describe and promote the organisation, our services, our projects and events.
- Developing and maintaining branding templates and materials.
- Supporting team members with the creation of professional, high impact and eye catching public material.
- Plan, coordinate and manage the effective delivery of high impact events with a variety of stakeholders including government, industry, investors and academia.
- Promote the organisation, our services, our projects and events through marketing channels, particularly social media.
- Draft Press Releases and proofread our marketing and communications materials.
- Produce project and event related materials and documentation.
- Managing company promotional stock.
- Build and maintain a network of individuals and organisations, employing appropriate CRM.
- Responsibility and reporting of budgets for exhibitions, communications and events.
- Organising conference attendance for the team and creating attractive exhibition spaces.
- Monitoring and reporting on the impact of marketing and communications activities, including clear presentation of key metrics and KPIs.
- Maintaining and growing Exotopic’s online presence and following, including maintaining websites.
- Manage Exotopic’s social media accounts and be responsible for writing posts and maintaining posting schedules
- Ensuring the quality and consistency of public facing materials.
- Support team members on providing various information and documentation.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as requested.
Personal Specifications and Abilities
- Experience in a similar role (formal or informal if skills can be demonstrated).
- Experience of event organisation, both smaller, intimate networking events as well as events for 100+.
- Strong communications skills in English.
- Willing to roll sleeves up and get stuck in.
- Comfortable approaching people and building relationships.
- Enjoy working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Interested in science and technology.
- Proficient IT Skills (MS Office).
- Strong graphic design skills.
- Diligent and detail oriented.
- Can work independently and can take initiative
- Proactive in foreseeing and raising small issues before they become crises.
- Strong organisational skills including ability to prioritise, flexible, resilient under pressure and decisive with ability to deliver quickly and to a high standard.

Qualifications
- Relevant qualification and/or substantial experience in a similar role.
