As they continue to expand their IT infrastructure to support ongoing growth and technological advancement, they are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Systems Administrator with a strong background in Wintel Infrastructure, Linux OS administration, and Cloud technologies. As a Systems Administrator, you will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining the IT infrastructure that powers our client's advanced technology solutions. Your expertise in Microsoft full-stack technologies, combined with your knowledge of Wintel and Linux systems, will be essential in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the company's IT operations. You will be responsible for providing advanced 3rd line support, managing servers and storage systems, and overseeing the administration of both modern and bespoke technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced 3rd line support to the global Service Delivery team, addressing complex technical issues and ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft 365 tenants, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance across the enterprise.
  • Test and implement User Experience (UX) improvements, enhancing the efficiency and satisfaction of end-users.
  • Administer servers and storage systems, ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance.
  • Install and manage Lab (FPGA) and Data Centre solutions, contributing to the company's research and development efforts.
  • Oversee the management and optimization of the company's Cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage authentication and application management, ensuring secure and efficient access to enterprise applications.

Key Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft full-stack technology, including Modern Workplace solutions, Windows Server, and Azure Cloud technologies.
  • Proven experience in supporting Linux workstations (preferably Ubuntu) and Windows OS (server, desktop, dual boot) environments.
  • Proficiency in OS and application patching, with experience in tools like WSUS.
  • Familiarity with systems monitoring tools such as Grafana and Zabbix.
  • Experience in physical system commissioning, including server, desktop, and peripheral setups.
  • Hands-on engineering skills, including soldering, using scopes, test benches, and understanding PCB pin-outs.
  • Experience managing M365/O365 suite and Active Directory or Azure infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of network support essentials, including DHCP, DNS, and routing.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Exchange Hybrid environments.
  • Proficiency in backup and disaster recovery solutions, with a preference for experience using Commvault.
  • ITIL certification or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a Data Centre and/or ESD Lab environment.
  • Experience supporting an international user base across multiple time zones.
  • Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python for automation and system management.
  • Experience in MySQL database management, including backup, restore, and performance tuning.
  • Administration experience with SharePoint, including user management and permissions.
  • Proficiency in VMWare/Horizon administration for virtualization and desktop solutions.
  • Experience in enterprise storage management, including SAN/NAS technologies.

Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 P/A (Negotiable) + Benefits

Term: Full-Time, Permanent Hire
